7 Top Glutathione Sources

Glutathione is an amazing molecule. It is in every cell in our bodies and in fact we cannot live without it.

But, with all of the discussion about this powerful little molecule many people can get confused as to exactly what kind of glutathione sources exist.

If you are reading this article you have undoubtedly heard about glutathione and are researching information related to it. While your curiosity is piqued now is a great time to tell you where you can find glutathione sources.

This top 7 list of glutathione sources is extensive and you will discover everything that you ever wanted to know about supplementing your body’s own ability to produce glutathione.

The Top 7 Sources of Glutathione

#1 – Food Sources – What foods are bountiful sources of natural glutathione?

  • Avocado
  • Asparagus
  • Broccoli
  • Garlic
  • Raw Egg
  • Spinach
  • Tomato
  • Unprocessed Meats

The eating of these foods as one of your glutathione sources is a very healthy step in giving your body the help it needs to fend off disease. Unfortunately, you cannot get maximum benefit from eating foods containing glutathione; supplementation of some kind is necessary to receive the full benefit of this powerful antioxidant.

#2 – Intravenous (IV) Treatments – There are many celebrities who undergo IV glutathione treatments, but before you laugh out loud thinking celebrities will do anything, you should realize that if it didn’t work they wouldn’t be doing it. Two famous names that openly admit to taking IV glutathione treatments are Magic Johnson and Suzanne Somers.

#3 – Trans Dermal Glutathione – Many people use trans dermal treatment as one of their glutathione sources. This type of treatment is not new, it has been used for years to help smokers kick the habit and for other medical uses. All that is required for this type of treatment is a patch stuck to the skin.

#4 – Topical Glutathione Cream – One of the side effects of glutathione that many in the beauty industry have capitalized on is the lightening of skin shade. It might seem sensible that one of the ways to get glutathione to the skin would be to use a topical cream but the beauty companies are wrong. Topical glutathione bypasses the digestive system, where our body takes in and distributes nutrients. Just because glutathione molecules get into your body through the skin does not mean that it will be distributed throughout the body.

#5 – Nebulized or Inhaled Glutathione – Nebulized treatments are one of the best glutathione sources, especially for those with breathing troubles. You can administer the treatments at home but you will need the proper equipment. Your doctor can give you all of the information on the type of equipment that you need, and maybe even give you a prescription for it so you can claim it on your insurance.

#6 – Sublingual Glutathione Treatments – Sublingual is a fancy word for “under the tongue,” but in the supplement market it can mean throat sprays or even lozenges.

#7 – Whey Protein – Whey protein is not really one of the glutathione sources but deserves to be in this list because even though it contains no actual glutathione it does contain the building blocks of the molecule, often referred to as glutathione precursors. You can get this product at any quality health food outlet.

All of the glutathione sources listed above are good ways to enhance the body’s own ability to produce the molecule, but each of the sources have their own drawbacks. Some people do not like vegetables, others do not like the time that IV glutathione treatments take from their busy lives, and others believe trans dermal and topical treatments to be next to useless.

If your doctor will not prescribe the proper equipment inhaled glutathione may not be an option. Each of these glutathione sources are fine, but there are other… BETTER ways that your body can produce glutathione.

The best way to increase your body’s levels of glutathione is to take my FAVORITE glutathione supplement which has a unique way of increasing the levels of glutathione in your body by creating the precursors instead of making it go through your digestive system.

There are many glutathione sources, but if you share my belief that the body should be the main supply of glutathione, then a glutathione supplement that gives your body every tool that it needs to produce this life giving molecule is exactly what you need.
