Is Transdermal Glutathione The Answer?

The treatment of illness and even addiction has stepped into the modern age with the use of transdermal applications.

Many smokers have kicked the habit with the use of a nicotine patch but the use of the patch is not limited to curing smoking. Transdermal glutathione is being used as a treatment for autism.

Can it really be that easy?

Can a simple transdermal patch answer the prayers of the parents of children with autism?

Glutathione is one of the most powerful antioxidants in our body and is found in every cell. The job of this powerful antioxidant is to detoxify the body and keep our system clean. While the level of glutathione in our cells decreases over time, most of us remain fairly healthy for the most part. The same cannot be said for those suffering from autism.

Studies have shown that those suffering from autism also have very low levels of glutathione when compared to the average person. When this antioxidant is low the body cannot effectively rid itself of toxins. Glutathione therapy for autism has been discussed at many of the Defeat Autism Now! (DAN!) conferences and there are some amazing studies by Dr. Jill James and Dr. Richard Deth.

Scientists now believe that there may be a direct connection to autism and the low level of glutathione found in autistic patients.

There are many ways that glutathione can be administered but the parents of many autistic children have found that a transdermal glutathione treatment is less intrusive that some of the more extreme measures.

Does glutathione actually help autistic children? That is a question that I cannot personally answer for you. I am not a doctor, but I have read the studies and glutathione seems to have a very bright future in many areas including autism. If I had an autistic child I would give him every chance that I could find give him a better life.

Personally, I take a supplement that provides the precursors to glutathione that my body needs to manufacture this antioxidant and I feel great. I may not be using transdermal glutathione, but if it makes an autistic person fell half as good as I do right now, it’s worth giving it a chance.
